Kenneth Creek, 49, was sentenced on Thursday, Oct. 24 to 50 years in state prison, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. A jury found him guilty of first-degree murder and second-degree possession of a weapon by a convicted felon on Tuesday, June 11.
Atlantic City police responded to the South Carolina Apartments complex at 1300 Baltic Avenue just after midnight on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022. Officers found 31-year-old Jordan Eaddy dead in the grass with two gunshot wounds.
Trial evidence included video showing Creek shoot at Eaddy twice while Eaddy ran away from him. The medical examiner ruled one wound to Eaddy's back caused his death.
Creek claimed he shot at Eaddy in self-defense. He was convicted after a seven-day trial.
Creek must serve about 42 1/2 years in prison before he's eligible for parole under the No Early Release Act.
